ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY

An echocardiogram is a diagnostic study of the heart and the blood flow through the heart, which utilizes the science of ultrasound.  It is the same technology used to image babies in the womb.

WHY DOESN'T EVERYONE HAVE AN ECHOCARDIOGRAM?

Cardiologists are generally in agreement that this would be the best tool to measure those athletes who are at risk. Until now echocardiography screening was too hard to organize on a large scale, while the echocardiograms themselves were too expensive and time consuming.

Ultrasound Services, Inc. has come up with a protocol for a Screening Echocardiogram that has solved these past dilemmas and has made the prospect of screening all athletes realistic. The process is now:
